1966 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex Bass Amp

1966 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex Bass Amp

Cosmetic Condition:  The rig is in very good condition with plenty of wear and tear from years of use.  There are some tears and dings in the tolex on the cabinet enclosure as well as some oxidation/scratching on the amp.  There are a few areas on the cabinet where the tolex has started to come unglued.  The amp was fully inspected and brought to optimal performance by our local amp tech.  Details are described below.

Tech notes from our amp tech:  I have it up and running exactly as it was new. Two replacements parts were installed: one was a 30 MFD/600V tubular electrolytic capacitor and one was a hum balance 100 ohm potentiometer.  The cap was reformed electronically and is perfectly functional now. The hum balance potentiometer was repaired manually and is now perfectly calibrated for virtually zero hum. Several other repairs/ improvements were made such as replacing worn out smaller capacitors, lamps and a 3 position ground switch installed with hospital grade power cord. Numerous bad solder connections repaired and lastly a set of matched Mesa Boogie 6L6 tubes.
